LED Lighting Technology
BHC develops and produces LED engines, LED modules and LED solutions on behalf of customers as an OEM for the lighting industry. Various base materials such as epoxy, aluminum, copper and ceramics, can be used; each base material has its specific property such as flatness, heat conductivity, mechanics and much more. The ceramic prints (hybrid technique) are produced in-house. The other boards are purchased by specification, on which the LEDs, connectors and electronics are then placed.
The (thick film) hybrid circuits and the screen printing of pastes (including conductors, resistors, glass and polymer on ceramic substrates, which are then dried and sintered) were largely used for the aerospace, medical and automotive industries. They choose this because of its reliability, reproducibility, chemical resistance and temperature stability. However, this technique is also increasingly finding its way within the telecom, lighting, consumer, office and general industrial markets. You can visit our facilities in 's-Heerenberg to see how hybrids are made. Also take a look at our projects and markets to see the application possibilities.
To make the right choice with regards to PCB, LED and further components, it’s important to have a good understanding of where and how it will be used, what specifications are important and what it will be used for. One of the common mistakes is that customers buy something that isn’t a great fit with the housing, driver or user. As a result, it doesn't work optimally and it’s a foregone opportunity to develop a product that is used to its full potential. This can be with respect to financial (lm/$), quality (CRI/LM80/SCDM), efficiency (lm/W), experience, uniformity/spot, modular flexibility and more. There are many opportunities, but also many pitfalls. We would like to invite you for a noncommittal talk to compile an inventory of your wishes and demands.
